If Eastern Florida is the first college or university you will attend you’re in the right place. This means you’ve never attended another college and will seek a degree or certificate at Eastern Florida State College (EFSC). You need to be a high school graduate, or will be a H.S. graduate by the term you plan to start, or have a state-issued GED®.
Follow the steps below to enroll – and remember once you get through Step 2 and are accepted to EFSC, you can take care of many of the next steps simultaneously to keep the process moving. Reviewing all the steps now so you are familiar with the complete enrollment process helps it go more smoothly.
Be sure to check your email for acceptance information and then follow the additional accepted student requirements to complete your enrollment so you can register for classes.

Steps to Admission
EFSC has a rolling admissions process, which means we accept new students year-round and process applications at any time. We set priority deadlines to give you ample time to complete any admissions follow-up requirements so you can move on to the course registration phase sooner when more classes are available. We continue to process applications after the recommended priority deadline, so apply at any time.
Before you even apply, think about the programs that interest you and that fit with your career and educational goals. Eastern Florida offers a variety of degree and certificate programs designed to help you transfer to a four-year college or an EFSC Bachelor program — or go directly into the workforce. Our Career Centers also are a resource during this stage of planning and throughout your college experience as they offer free career interest assessments.
As you get ready to apply, you can visit our EFSC Programs and their Admission Requirements page in the catalog to review each program's placement testing requirements, whether it's eligible for financial aid, and if it requires an additional application process because of being a limited access program.
It's time to apply using our easy online application. You can start an application, save it, and come back and finish it later if you need to so get started now.
There's a one-time, non-refundable $30 application fee that you can pay online by credit card or in person by cash or check. If paying in person you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to pay the fee by cash or check at a Campus Student Accounts Office.
Note for EFSC High School Dual Enrollment/ Early Admissions students: If you have dual enrolled now or in the past, do not submit a new application for admission after you graduate high school. If you submit an online application at any time, you will be assessed a non-refundable $30 application fee. Please note that application processing can take up to 14 days due to the current volume of applications. Check your email frequently for your acceptance letter.
For determining residency that impacts your tuition rates, the Florida Residency Guidelines will walk you through the process and required Declaration. This same Declaration is used by non-Florida residents to declare that classification. Be sure to follow up and submit the residency supporting documents either in person or through our online Student Dropbox. (Don't stress: all the info about how to submit this is on that Residency page, plus you can contact Admissions if you have questions).
Your acceptance email and letter will clearly outline any remaining admissions requirements and include information on how to access the myEFSC Student Portal, a key online tool as you submit any required admissions documents and during your time as a student. Our Accepted Students page also has clear guidance on how to complete requirements. Here are highlights about two of the most important items.
High School Transcript
A final, official High School transcript indicating date of graduation, GED® transcript or Homeschool Graduation Affidavit is required for registration into college courses. Florida public high school transcripts should be sent electronically when possible. If an official transcript must be mailed from your school, ask that they be sent to the EFSC campus you consider your primary campus. See the Accepted Students page for more on how to complete this requirement. Please note: Financial Aid will not be awarded until the official high school transcript is received and evaluated.

To determine if your degree or certificate program requires placement testing, please review the EFSC Catalog Programs & Admissions Requirements. You can also find information about Placement Testing requirements for college credit courses in that section of our website.
If you’ve taken the SAT/ACT and your scores are less than two years old or if you’ve completed college level English and math courses with a grade of “C” or higher, have your official test score reports and/or official transcripts sent to your primary campus.
No scores or previous college or do you need specialized admissions testing for a limited access program? No problem. Eastern Florida offers College-Credit and Vocational Credit testing, which you can explore at our Testing Services section.
Once you’ve been accepted as an Eastern Florida student, you should start the process of applying for financial aid – and you must reapply each year. Every EFSC student should apply because the only way to find out if you’re eligible is to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Online orientation is required for all first time in college students, transfer students, re-admit students, non-degree students who have not earned an associate degree or higher and recommended for all students. It’s an introduction to life at Eastern Florida. Learn how to access our online orientation system.
First time in college students are required to meet with an academic advisor prior to registering for classes. Your advisor can review placement test scores, develop an educational progression plan to keep you on track to earning your degree or certificate, discuss how to schedule classes, and address other academic concerns.
Accepted students are assigned an advisor once they complete all enrollment steps. It's easy to make an appointment through EFSC's Navigate tool that's accessed from inside the myEFSC Student Services portal.
- Registering for classes online is the easiest way to go if you do not have any holds on your account. Visit the Class Schedule for current course listings.
- If you are a graduating high school senior, you may be eligible to register for summer term courses at EFSC before the College receives your final transcript with graduation date. Brevard Public School students should contact their high school guidance counselor to discuss the process and form required to register pending final transcripts. Private school and home school students should contact EFSC Admissions to discuss the potential options.
- Check out the Student Accounts section for information on paying fees by the deadline.
- Student ID cards are available at any EFSC Campus Security Office for free by presenting your class registration and a photo ID. This ID also will be your library card and replacing a lost card costs $10.
- A Student Parking Permit is required to park on any EFSC Campus. The annual cost is $40 (plus tax) for a decal that covers Fall, Spring and Summer terms each academic year and $20 (plus tax) for a decal purchased in a Spring or Summer term that covers both terms. Getting the permit involves a two-step process to generate a temporary permit online and then pick up the permit at your campus security office.
- EFSC Bookstores are your source for required textbooks and course materials. Most EFSC courses are automatically part of the Titan First Day Ready program, designed to save students money. At least 30 days before the first day of class each term, the Bookstore will send an email with instructions on how to verify your course materials list, arrange pickup or delivery, or opt out and obtain materials yourself. Check with Financial Aid about help paying for books through what's known as a Book Voucher if you qualify.
