Transfer Services

Where can an EFSC degree take you?

Eastern Florida State College offers a high quality education close to home — then once you earn your associate degree you can transfer to the college or university of your choice to complete a bachelor's degree (or stay right here at EFSC as a junior in our bachelor programs).

The general Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree is the best choice to transfer directly into most bachelor programs. However, our Associate in Science degrees also provide transfer options through state articulation agreements for select A.S. programs or directly into EFSC's Bachelor of Applied Science degrees and our online RN to BSN degree.

Work with your academic advisor at EFSC and the school where you plan to transfer — this ensures that your associate degree coursework best prepares you to transfer into your intended upper division program.

Transfer Pathway Options

In the accordion below are several transfer options with a two-year EFSC degree. Eastern Florida has a collection of articulation agreements in place, the formal documents that spell out the transfer process after getting an EFSC degree. FloridaShines, the state's online college advising and records system and a service of the Florida Virtual Campus, also provides invaluable resources on your transfer rights.

Florida Tech Track

Florida Institute of Technology is a top-ranked national research university located in Melbourne, FL just a short drive from all of EFSC’s campuses.

The university’s Florida College Connection program is a dual-admission program designed to help Florida high school graduates pursue an Associate in Arts degree from EFSC followed directly by a bachelor’s degree at Florida Tech. This program is open to all majors, and transfer scholarships up to Florida Tech’s full tuition are available to students who qualify.

An agreement also gives students in EFSC’s Organizational Management Bachelor of Applied Science program a path into Florida Tech’s SmartTrack MBA program when they reach senior level and maintain a 3.3 GPA.

Florida Tech encourages all EFSC students who plan to continue their studies as a transfer student to contact our transfer admission counselorsvisit campus, and apply.

To ease the process for transfers from EFSC, Florida Tech’s course conversion charts are based on the EFSC common course numbering system.

Florida Public Universities

Students who complete their Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree here at EFSC are guaranteed admission to a state of Florida public university under what's referred to as the 2+2 system. Students can apply to earn a bachelor’s degree from one of Florida's 12 state universities. Acceptance at a student's specific first-choice university bachelor program is not guaranteed as each program within Florida's universities have their own acceptance requirements.

Transfer or articulation agreements and the state's transfer process protect the credits earned by students during their freshman and sophomore years at Florida colleges such as EFSC, so you will be able to transfer to a Florida public university.

Be sure to review the catalog of the university you're interested in and check with its admissions team to be sure you will meet its requirements.

Students interested in transferring to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) should visit that state university's Transfer Services Website as soon as possible while an EFSC A.A. student so they can receive customized FAMU advising. They can also sign up for FAMU's IGNITE program, available to students before they have earned 30 credits at EFSC.

Florida Private Universities

Through statewide agreements, once you've earned your A.A. degree, articulation agreements and the Florida College and University system's transfer process protect your credits earned at EFSC so you can continue your education at articulated private institutions.

Out-of-State Programs

Since Eastern Florida State College is regionally accredited, most courses will transfer to colleges and universities across the United States. As you plan your next steps, check the admission's guidelines at the institution you're interested in and follow their process for transfer students.
