Associate Degrees at EFSC
Associate degrees at Eastern Florida State College are the steppingstone to a university or college bachelor program or for career training to transition straight to the workforce. Explore the choices below and work with EFSC's advising and admissions team as you choose between an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science program to ensure you choose a pathway that meets your educational and career goals.
Associate in Arts (A.A.)
The Associate in Arts Degree is a university parallel degree designed for students who intend to earn a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. The A.A. degree is comparable to the freshman and sophomore years (lower division) of a university program
Associate in Science (A.S.)
The Associate in Science (A.S.) degree is the two-year career education degree offered by Florida colleges primarily to prepare students for direct entry into the workforce. A.S. degrees will articulate to Eastern Florida State College's bachelor degree programs and also transfer to Florida colleges; making it possible for A.S. degree students to complete a Bachelor’s degree. A.S. degrees are not designed for transfer to a state university bachelor program unless articulation agreements are in place, which they are in Florida for select degrees. Consult with an academic advisor if you plan to pursue a bachelor degree through an A.S. transfer pathway. Read more about A.S. degree requirements in the EFSC Academic Catalog.
