Sally Cook

Adjunct Music Instructor: Piano

Sally Cook is an adjunct instructor of piano and keyboard harmony. She has more than 30 years of teaching experience in both college and private studios, including the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, IVS Music School in Oak Park, IL, Shandong Art Institute in China, and the Dominican School in Taiwan.

Cook is a classically-trained pianist, receiving her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance with a Harpsichord minor at the University of Alabama, where she was on the Birmingham Music Club scholarship.

After moving to Illinois, she received her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, where she studied with William Browning.

While studying for her degree, she was assistant for the ensemble classes, coach for the rhythm classes, and accompanist for numerous voice teachers in the area. She has done additional study at the University of Michigan, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, and the Interlochen Music Camp. As a member of the American Federation of Music Clubs, she has had many of her students win top ratings in contests.

Cook also has had much accompanying and chamber music experience. She was staff accompanist at Western Carolina University for three years. She currently enjoys accompanying for the Eastern Florida State College Music Department, where she plays for the EFSC Concert Choir, the Madrigal Singers, and the Brevard Chorale, a community choir sponsored by EFSC.
