Esthetician program students with instructor and facial client

Facial Specialty - Certificate Program

Are you passionate about skincare? Eastern Florida's Cosmetology Department offers a Facial Specialty Career and Technical Certificate (CTC) program at the Cocoa Campus. Instruction and hands-on practice prepare students for obtaining professional registration from the Florida State Board of Cosmetology.

This affordable, Brevard County-based option for Esthetician training equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to work as Skincare and Facial Specialists. Upon completion, students will be capable of performing a variety of specialized facials — including microneedling, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels; as well as waxing, makeup application, brow and last shaping and tinting services, and more.

Program participants have an opportunity to provide services to the public as part of their training at EFSC's Cocoa Campus Salon, giving them real-world practical and customer service experience before they enter the workforce.

Application Deadline: Spring Start Date 2 deadline coming soon.

Summer 2026 Program: July start, Monday - Thursday, 4 to 9:10 PM

Apply for General Admission to EFSC

Complete & submit the online application for general admission to EFSC. Select "CTC Facial Specialty" as your desired program of study. A $30 non-refundable fee is due at the time of application.

NOTE: This step pertains ONLY to students who are not currently enrolled at EFSC. If you're:

  • A returning/readmit student who applied one or more years ago, and have not completed a course in the past year, you'll need to re-apply online, and will not be charged the application fee again.
  • Already an active student at EFSC (in another major), you will need to complete a Major/Program Change Form and submit it to the Admissions Office.
Verify General Admissions Requirements & Check for Registration Holds

Once you have been admitted to EFSC, your general admissions acceptance letter/email will list admissions requirements that must be completed. These general requirements can also be found on EFSC's Accepted Students' page.

Please visit the Registration Holds page on EFSC's website for details on how to check holds and how to clear them.

In preparation for state licensing, students should review the eligibility requirements to obtain licensure as established by Florida DPBR.

Complete Facial Program Requirements

The program advisor will contact applicants via Titan email with next steps once the initial EFSC admissions requirements are completed.

Brief Costs & Financial Aid Eligibility

The estimated expenses to complete this certificate program — which includes in-state tuition, lab fees, and course materials — is approximately $1,450. Uniforms and necessary vaccinations may cost extra. Though this certificate is not eligible for financial aid due to the program's length, students can explore options and eligibility for Veteran's Benefits, scholarships, and the Nelnet Payment Plan.

Where Can This Certification Lead?

This program prepares students for employment as professional Estheticians. Upon completion, certificate-holding program graduates could find work in beauty salons, day spas and medi spas, dermatologist offices, plastic surgeons' offices, with cosmetic/ skincare companies, or within the entertainment industry as make-up specialists. Classroom and clinical instruction focus on building the skills needed to function successfully as an esthetician in varied settings and roles. Students have the opportunity to provide services to the public while building experience in a hands-on setting as part of their training at EFSC's Cocoa Campus Salon.
