How Do I Graduate With Honors?

Students completing any Associate degree or certificate requirements with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher will graduate with honors.

Your cumulative GPA includes transfer work from previous institutions, if transferred prior to fall 2013 when the process changed, and all 1000 to 2000 level coursework completed at EFSC.

Students completing any Bachelor degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher for all 3000 to 4000 level coursework completed at EFSC and 3000 to 4000 level transfer work from previous institutions prior to fall 2013, will graduate with honors.

Students who graduate with honors will be given a white tassel to wear on their cap when they sign in prior to the commencement ceremony.

PTK and other Honor Society Members

Students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, other honor societies, or special recognition graduates may wear all their regalia at the ceremony. You must purchase or obtain supplies directly from the organization. Contact the club or program sponsor for information.

What is an Honors Program Graduate?

The Eastern Florida State College Honors Program offers students an opportunity to participate in an academic experience that will challenge them beyond the rigors of traditional classes. Visit the Honors Program web section for more details, including how to be an Honors Program graduate. This recognition is separate from the honors graduate designation that is solely based on the GPA achievement.
