Promotions at EFSC
Eastern Florida State College regularly holds contests and drawings to give current students a chance to win prizes. Explore the list below for eligibility requirements, deadlines, how to enter, and more information about each promotion.
QEP Quiz (EFSC Faculty & Staff Only)
ELIGIBILITY
The QEP Quiz (the "Contest") is open to current Eastern Florida State College employees who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form).
CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest begins on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 6:00 AM ET and ends on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 11:59 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
HOW TO ENTER
Employees are encouraged to participate in answering questions about EFSC's Quality Enchancement Plan (QEP) provided by the college's internal email newsletter, Titan Today. Answers will need to be sent prior to end of business on Thursday each week during the contest period to Suzanne Rains at rainss@easternflorida.edu. Employees should also include their name, campus, building number, and office number in their submissions.

WINNER SELECTION
Once weekly, starting the week of Monday, September 11, 2023 one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (the first three people to email Suzanne Rains the correct answer(s) determined via timestamp) from among all eligible entries. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person once per week during the contest period. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

Prize retail value may differ at the time of award. The specifics of the prize(s) will be solely determined by the Sponsor. No cash or other prize substitution(s) will be permitted, except at the Sponsor's discretion. All prizes are non-transferable and subject to income tax. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation, any and all federal, state, and/or local income taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. Any winner of a prize valued in excess of $600 at the time of award must provide their social security number, EIN, or TIN to Eastern Florida State College and shall receive an IRS Form 1099. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use a winner's name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
All prizes will be delivered via inter-office mail within 5 days of notification.

Candy Land Costume Contest (Fall Festival)
ELIGIBILITY
The Cocoa Campus Candy Land Costume Contest (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students taking at least one EFSC class during the term in which the event takes place who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.
CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest begins on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 7:00 PM ET and ends on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 9:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
HOW TO ENTER
To enter, students should attend the Cocoa Campus Fall Festival event in costume and check in at the costume contest table. Student will them complete a competition form, take a photo in the photo booth, and be present at 9:15 PM for the winner selection announcement.
Each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest, regardless of method of entry. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
WINNER SELECTION
On Friday, October 27, 2023, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (creativity, authenticity, and originality) from among all eligible entries. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around Friday, October 27, 2023. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.
All tournament sets will be a best-of-3 series. The format of the tournament depends on the amount of entries. There is a single or double elimination possibility, bracket will be made the day of the tournament and will be randomized. At the end of each fight, the top player moves on the next round; the bottom player will be sent to the loser bracket where if the player loses again, they will be eliminated from the tournament.
The final round will consist of the top two (2) players of both the winner and loser bracket and will be best 3 of 5, platers will choose a map that they both afree on. If players cannot agree on a stage, there will be a coin flip to determine the stage. At the end of the match the players final winner of the winner's bracket and loser bracket will compete in the grand final for first and second place in the best 3 of 5.

Titusville Campus Haunted Readings Costume Contest
ELIGIBILITY
The Titusville Campus Haunted Readings Costume Contest (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.
CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest begins on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 6:00 PM ET and ends on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 8:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
HOW TO ENTER
To enter, students should attend the Titusville Campus Haunted Readings event in costume during the Contest Period and sign up to participate in the Contest.
Each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest, regardless of method of entry. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
WINNER SELECTION
On or around Monday, October 30, 2023, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (creativity, execution, and resourcefulness) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around Monday, October 30, 2023. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

EFSC Annual Programming Competition
ELIGIBILITY
The EFSC Annual Programming Competition (the "Contest") is open to current Eastern Florida State College employees who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form).
CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest begins on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 12:01 AM ET and ends on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 2 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
HOW TO ENTER
To enter, students should sign up online prior to the start of the event, which will be held on the Melbourne Campus on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 9 AM to 2 PM.
During the event, students will compete to solve up to five (5) computer programming probnlems over a three-hour period using any or all of the following languages: Java, C++, C#, or Python.
Each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned
WINNER SELECTION
On or around Friday, November 3, 2023, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (most correct answers in the least amount of time) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around Friday, November 3, 2023. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

EFSC Foundation 8th Annual BBQ Cook-Off Traeger Grill Drawing
ELIGIBILITY
The EFSC Foundation 8th Annual BBQ Cook-Off Traeger Grill Drawing (the "Drawing") is open to all legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry.
DRAWING PERIOD
The Drawing begins on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 4:00 PM EDT and ends on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:30 PM EDT (the "Drawing Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Drawing Period will be disqualified.
HOW TO ENTER
To enter, participants can purchase tickets from an EFSC Foundation staff member or Board of Directors member. Tickets can also be purchased online at efscfoundation.org.

The winner is eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Drawing. One ticket will be drawn for each prize (one prize in total). Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
