UCF Research Opportunities
UCF has opportunities for EFSC students from all academic disciplines transferring to UCF who are interested in undergraduate research. Opportunities include a three-day Summer Research Academy; a STEM-focused learning community; and a program for underrepresented undergrad students who may be interested in going on to master's level education and research. Supporting student research
The Eastern Florida State College Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) was established in Fall 2014 to organize, promote and support student research. OUR's overarching purpose is to assist students and connect them with faculty, staff, administrators and community leaders to provide student research opportunities that will enhance academic progression and nurture deeper engagement in academic fields of interest.
OUR encompasses all academic disciplines and supports integrative research experiences for EFSC students. Opportunities have included the chance to present research results at academic conferences.
Students, are you interested in conducting undergraduate research at EFSC? Browse the list of “Current EFSC Undergraduate Research” to match your research interests with EFSC faculty and staff who have current research openings. Then, complete the online Student Form to identify the research in which you're interested. Upon receiving your Student Form, OUR will pass your contact information to the research mentor to arrange an initial meeting. The College offers the student-only OUR Space as a location to work on your research project. We also encourage you to explore and apply for summer research opportunities outside of the college.
For Faculty & Staff
As faculty and staff, you may have ongoing research which can incorporate students, research ideas you want to pursue with students or simply be interested in mentoring student research. Fill out the quick online Mentor Form, after which your research project/interests will be posted on the OUR website for EFSC students to browse.
When a student contacts the Office of Undergraduate Research with interest in a mentor, an OUR team member will contact the faculty or staff member who can then choose whether to mentor the student after meeting with him or her to discuss research opportunities.
Faculty and staff may add or change research information at any time using the Mentor Form.
