Eastern Florida State College regularly holds contests and drawings to give current students a chance to win prizes. Explore the list in the accordion below for eligibility requirements, deadlines, how to enter, and more information about each promotion.
EFSC employees or students planning a college-sponsored promotion should review the process and submit a request to add rules to this page. Please note that requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the start of the promotion.
Current Promotion Topics and Rules
Eligibility
The FYE Workshop Contest (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students taking at least one class who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees (including student employees) of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.
Contest Period
The Contest begins on 09/23/2025 at 12:00 AM ET and ends on 10/09/2025 at 05:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
How to Enter
To enter the Contest, eligible students should do the following during the Contest Period:
The first three students to register for one of our October Healthy Habits for College Students socials, or previously registered for September’s permitted Time Management Strategies for Success workshops, and attend will win a pair of tickets to see Vampire Circus at the King Center on October 16, 2025! Plus, you're eligible for your first FYE swag with just one reward point, so we'll have that ready for all in-person attendees.
Each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest, regardless of method of entry. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Winner Selection
On 10/13/2025 at 12:00 PM ET, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with the judging criteria (The first three students to sign up for a workshop, out of all available September Workshops and October FYE Social events.) from among all eligible entries in the following location: Melbourne Campus, Bldg. 10 Rm. 122. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around 10/13/2025. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.
Prize(s)
Each eligible winner will receive one prize from among the following:

Prize retail value may differ at the time of award. The specifics of the prize(s), which is/are funded by the King Center, will be solely determined by the Sponsor. No cash or other prize substitution(s) will be permitted, except at the Sponsor's discretion. All prizes are non-transferable and subject to income tax. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation, any and all federal, state, and/or local income taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. Any winner of a prize valued in excess of $600 at the time of award must provide their social security number, EIN, or TIN to Eastern Florida State College and shall receive an IRS Form 1099. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use a winner's name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
All prizes not picked up at the time of award must be picked up at Melbourne Campus, Bldg. 10, Rm. 122 (3865 North Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL 32935) within ten (10) days of the time of award notification.

Contest Period
The Contest begins on 09/05/2025 at 12:00 AM ET and ends on 10/13/2025 at 08:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
How to Enter
To enter the Contest, eligible students should do the following during the Contest Period:
Students should self-register for the Grand Debate Canvas Shell no later than Friday, September 19th, at 11:59 PM to participate in the event, which
will be held on the Cocoa Campus in Bldg. 14, Rm. 104, on Monday, October 13th from
6 to 8 PM. The topic for this year's debate is, "In the exploration and utilization
of outer space, international cooperation should be prioritized."
Winners of this preliminary round will move on to the statewide competition for a
chance to win $1,200.
Each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest, regardless of method of entry. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Winner Selection
On 10/13/2025 at 08:00 PM ET, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with the judging criteria (Opening Arguments (20 pts), Comprehension of Relevant Factors (20 pts), Rebuttals (20 pts), Quality of Evidence (10 pts), Presentation (20 pts), and Consistency (10 pts).) from among all eligible entries in the following location: Cocoa Campus, Bldg. 14 Rm. 104. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around 10/13/2025. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

The Faculty/Staff Door Decorating Contest (the "Contest") is open to currently employed Eastern Florida State College faculty & staff who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.
Contest Period
The Contest begins on 10/01/2025 at 03:00 PM ET and ends on 10/28/2025 at 01:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
How to Enter
To enter the Contest, eligible individuals should do the following during the Contest Period:
Decorate their doors for Halloween after being one of the first twenty people to sign up via the Sign Up Genius form.
Each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest, regardless of method of entry. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Winner Selection
On 10/29/2025 at 02:00 PM ET, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with the judging criteria (SGA will walk around and judge doors based on creativity, scariest, funniest, and best in show.) from among all eligible entries in the following location: Cocoa Campus, Bldg. 11, Rm. 129. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around 10/29/2025. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

Each eligible winner will receive one prize from among the following:
A bag from the bookstore and a gift card donated by the Campus Administrator

The EFSC Annual Programming Competition (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students taking at least one class who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees (including student employees) of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.
Contest Period
The Contest begins on 08/21/2025 at 12:00 AM ET and ends on 11/07/2025 at 02:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
How to Enter
To enter the Contest, eligible students should do the following during the Contest Period:
Students should self-register for the Computer Programming Competition Canvas Shell no later than Thursday, November 6th at 11:59 PM to participate in the event, which
will be held in Bldg. 7 on the Melbourne Campus on Friday, November 7th from 9 AM
to 2 PM.
During the event, students will compete to solve up to five (5) computer programming
problems over a three-hour period using any or all of the following languages: Java,
C++, C#, or Python.
Each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest, regardless of method of entry. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Winner Selection
On 11/07/2025 at 02:00 PM ET, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with the judging criteria (most points earned) from among all eligible entries in the following location: Melbourne Campus, Bldg. 7 Rms. 326-B, 339, and 308. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around 11/07/2025. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

The Commencement Photo with EFSC President Dr. James Richey Drawing (the "Drawing") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students taking at least one class who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry. Eligible students must also have RSVPd yes by November 30, 2025 to attend an EFSC Commencement Ceremony on December 18, 2025. Employees (including student employees) of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Drawing and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings, and children) and household members are not eligible to win.
Drawing Period
The Drawing begins on 08/18/2025 at 12:00 AM ET and ends on 12/10/2025 at 11:59 PM ET (the "Drawing Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Drawing Period will be disqualified.
How to Enter
To enter the Drawing, eligible students should do the following during the Drawing Period:
When applying to graduate, students who check "yes" to attending commencement in person, or who request to enter through the alternate method by 11:59 PM on Sunday, November 30, 2025, will be sent a form on Monday, December 1, 2025 via their Titan student email address with a link to an official entry form. Students who submit the form by Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 11:59 PM, and who meet all eligibility requirements, will be entered into a random drawing for a family photo with EFSC President, Dr. James Richey, taken immediately following their commencement ceremony.
Alternative Method of Entry:
Eligible students may email Commencement Office from their Titan student email accounts during the Drawing Period to indicate that they wish to be included in the Drawing.
Each entrant is only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Drawing, regardless of method of entry. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Winner Selection
On 12/11/2025 at 12:00 PM ET, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) at random from among all eligible entries in the following location: Cocoa Campus, , Registrar's Office. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via video conference, social media, email, telephone, or in person on or around 12/11/2025. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

Prize retail value may differ at the time of award. The specifics of the prize(s), which is/are funded by the Communications Office, will be solely determined by the Sponsor. No cash or other prize substitution(s) will be permitted, except at the Sponsor's discretion. All prizes are non-transferable and subject to income tax. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation, any and all federal, state, and/or local income taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. Any winner of a prize valued in excess of $600 at the time of award must provide their social security number, EIN, or TIN to Eastern Florida State College and shall receive an IRS Form 1099. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for the Sponsor to use a winner's name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
All post-commencement photography will take place at Melbourne Campus, Bldg. 9 Rm. Rotunda (3865 North Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL 32935) within 30 minutes after the end of the applicable commencement ceremony. Photos will be posted in the college Flickr album and emailed to each winner within 72 hours of the ceremony.
