Course Registration

Dual enrollment students self-register for their courses using academic plans and advising input.

Course Plans: What are they and what role do they play?

Most students will be provided with a course plan via the myGPS Degree Audit tool that contains their recommended courses. This plan will serve as a roadmap for the upcoming self-registration period. Students are encouraged to log in to myEFSC and review their most current plan in myGPS with their high school counselor.

Priority Registration: Who's Eligible?

  • All EFSC Students who have 42 credits (earned or in progress) or more are eligible for priority registration.
  • Dual Enrollment students who are continuing in the Early College Program, meaning you are actively enrolled in courses during the fall or spring term.

Registration Process Overview

Step 1: Make Course Planning Selections

Students should work with their school counselor before registration begins if possible to set academic goals. The number of courses, school schedule, and high school graduation requirements should be considered. Students are encouraged to use their EFSC myGPS Course Plan to assist with decisions.

Step 2: Check the myEFSC Message Center

Once logged in to the myEFSC Portal, check your Message Center for important communications and holds that may prevent you from registering. Holds may be placed on the student enrollment process for a number of reasons, including outstanding admission requirements, an incorrect address or social security number, or outstanding fees.

Please Note: There are holds that prevent registration that are specific to dual enrollment students.

  • “DE – Dual Enrollment” Hold – This prevents students from registering outside of the specified registration period. It is automatically removed when registration is open and will be reapplied once registration is closed.
  • “DR – DE Registration Complete” Hold - Once registration is complete for an upcoming term, a registration hold will be placed on the student’s account to prevent schedule changes. No additional action is needed.
  • "DP - Dual Enrollment Probation" Hold - Brevard Public School dual enrollment students who receive a grade of F or withdraw from a college course, and then later earn another F or withdrawal in a subsequent college course, will be ineligible for dual enrollment for three consecutive terms.
Step 3: Register for Classes

IMPORTANT NOTE: Students will only be able to register one time during open registration. This will allow for cross-checking by both the high school guidance departments and the college’s advising team. Once a schedule is created, changes will not be allowed except during the term's published Dual Enrollment add/drop window. This also ensures all DE students have the opportunity to register for classes that meet their academic goals.

Be sure to review the information about courses that dual enrolled students are not allowed to take.

Registration Support: Dual Enrollment students can make an appointment with their assigned advisor using the link in the Student Services Appointments area after logging in to myEFSC.

EFSC High School Outreach Advisors will assist students with registration as needed during the advisors’ regularly scheduled day(s) at the high schools. School Counselors can also assist students during the school day with self-registration. Students are encouraged to review their course plan in myEFSC (myGPS) with their high school counselor prior to the start of registration to ensure it meets their needs for their school schedule and high school graduation requirements.

Registration must be completed in one session for all courses for the specified term. IMPORTANT: Dual enrollment students will be locked from making any changes to courses upon completion of registration.

Fees: EFSC waives tuition and fees in accordance with Florida Statute for students participating in Dual Enrollment. All students are responsible for paying the $10 per semester Wi-Fi/Print Access Fee. If you intend to park a vehicle on campus you must purchase a parking decal.

Step 4: Make Optional Schedule Changes - Add/Drop

During the published Dual Enrollment Add/Drop window, dual enrolled students with an existing registration for the upcoming term can make schedule changes with the approval of a high school counselor or in the case of home education or PEP, their parent, and with the assistance of an EFSC team member.

IMPORTANT NOTES: Students must have a completed and signed Add/Drop Planning form to make any schedule changes. Students should contact or schedule an appointment with their EFSC high school outreach advisor for assistance with add/drop.

Schedule changes for dual enrollment students will not be approved after the last day of the Dual Enrollment Add/Drop window.
