Make some sparks! Create the products of tomorrow

Students who like designing and building with metal and are interested in fields such as materials engineering, robotics, lasers, computer programming and systems integration will find plenty of career opportunities in welding.

EFSC's Welding Technology program provides the theoretical and practical experience necessary to develop a basic foundation in the skills of welding. It's designed to train students to become certified welders in pipe and structural steel and in ferrous and nonferrous base materials.

The Welding program requires a special application process. Information about the program that includes the application deadline, costs, course requirements and equipment is available on the Application Process web page. The program is taught on the Cocoa campus. It is structured as full-time, day classes, Monday - Thursday. The clock-hour curriculum courses are offered in two, 20-week terms that start in Fall Term (August) and lead to the Welding Career and Techical Certificate (CTC). The program can be completed in under one year.

Instruction and standards are according to the American Welding Society (AWS), ASME, API and ANSI approved codes for the welding industry. This includes quality and safety processes.

Graduates of the program will be prepared for entry-level positions as welders and are eligible to take the AWS certification exam. Read more about career opportunities at the Explore the Career Field web page.
