Phlebotomy - Certificate Program

Phlebotomists are medical professionals who draw blood from patients for various lab tests and procedures. This one-semester program of study that is now closed to new students, prepared the student for employment as an entry-level Phlebotomist by teaching them the techniques and theory needed to successfully take and pass the national certification exam and enter the health care field.

The Phlebotomy Program was a 16-week course of study. A 6-week minimester course with lab is taught on campus, with the remainder of the term spent completing a 100-hour supervised clinical experience.

Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to take a national certification exam (State of FL certification not required). Students must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate to be accepted into the Phlebotomy Program.

The Phlebotomy program was taught on the Cocoa Campus.

On campus, students will be doing venipuncture on each other.
