Institutional Effectiveness and Research

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research (OIER) helps facilitate the effectiveness of Eastern Florida State College by providing support to faculty and staff leading academic programs, administrative units, and student services programs.

Institutional effectiveness is accomplished through an integrated process of research, assessment, and quality improvement in order to meet institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements.

Goals of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research
  1. Ensure institutional and operational excellence through strategic planning and assessment.
  2. Increase the effective use of data to inform decision-making processes.
  3. Improve the ability of the institution and its programs to maintain good standing with regional and programmatic accreditors.

Institutional Research at EFSC

The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) supports EFSC’s culture of inquiry by providing data and analysis faculty, administration, and staff to inform decision-making, support planning and evaluation, and help improve student success. 

Responsibilities of the OIR include the production of regular reports, support for state and federal reporting requirements, and facilitating internal research projects.

OIR staff are available to support all phases of internal research, from research design and internal surveys to literature review, to project implementation and analysis of findings.

In addition to supporting research throughout the college, OIR staff serve as members of various committees at EFSC.
