Eastern Florida State College’s Cocoa Campus recently had a special guest in the Cosmetology and Facials Salon! Campus Administrator Dr. Holly McKnight served as a color model for EFSC’s Cosmetology students, offering her support while experiencing firsthand the talent and professionalism of the program.

“It was such a fun and rewarding experience serving as a color model for our Cocoa Campus Cosmetology students,” Dr. McKnight shared. “They offered thoughtful insights for my color and haircut. Sitting in the student chair gave me a whole new appreciation for their skill, creativity, and professionalism. Supporting their hands-on learning in this way was truly a joy. I’m so proud of the talent and dedication we have right here on our Cocoa Campus.”

The EFSC Cosmetology program provides students with hands-on, real-world experience in a salon setting, allowing them to refine their technical skills while working with real clients. From color consultations to precision cuts, students apply classroom instruction in a professional environment under faculty supervision. Dr. McKnight’s participation highlights the collaborative spirit of the Cocoa Campus community and the College’s commitment to supporting experiential learning, confidence, creativity, and career-ready skills.

The Cosmetology Salon welcomes clients from the community, with select discounted services available for EFSC/UCF students, faculty, and staff. When the salon is open, services are available by appointment and also on a walk-in basis if a time slot is available.
