Eastern Florida State College student Robert (Rob) Coleman exemplifies what it means to be part of the Titan community through his commitment to involvement, service, and building meaningful connections with others on campus.

On the Cocoa Campus, Rob stays actively engaged through the Collegiate Veterans Society (CVS) and the Rotaract Club, while also serving as a VA Work-Study in the Military and Veterans Service Center. In this role, he helps support fellow student veterans and their dependents while contributing to a welcoming environment where students can get together, access resources, and support each other. For Rob, getting involved has been one of the most rewarding parts of his college experience.

“My favorite experience at EFSC so far has been connecting with people. When I first moved here after getting out of the Army about a year ago, I didn’t know anyone. Through the organizations I joined and the people I’ve met on campus, I’ve been able to build friendships and feel like I’m part of a community.”

Rob is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity and plans to continue his education after graduating. He hopes to attend the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) to earn an MBA in Cybersecurity while exploring the many career opportunities available in the growing cybersecurity field.

“What motivates me to stay engaged on campus and in the community is meeting new people and learning from different perspectives. I believe that when students engage with each other, it helps build a stronger campus and community.”

As a student veteran, Rob also appreciates the opportunity to support others navigating the transition from military to college life.

Reflecting on his journey so far, Rob encourages other students to make the most of their time at EFSC by stepping outside their comfort zones and embracing the opportunities that come their way.

“My advice to other Titans would be to get involved. Join clubs, attend events, and participate in your campus community. Getting involved can make your college experience much more meaningful, and it’s one of the best ways to meet people and build connections.”
