Dean of Students Fall Term Welcome Message

EFSC's Dean of Students, Dr. Barbara Kennedy, shared a video welcome message for current and new students on the first day of Fall Term. Her goal is to make sure everyone connects with all that student services has to offer.
Whether you are beginning your EFSC journey or returning to continue it, you're an important part of our community and we are glad you are here.
The first weeks set the tone for success. Your course instructors will supply key info in their syllabus and on Canvas. Confirm and bookmark key dates on the academic calendar and stay on top of student events and workshops through the Titan Virtual Hub.
Be sure to connect with your academic advisor as needed to stay on track with course planning. For our military connected students, be sure to reach out to Military and Veterans Services for anything you might need.
A sense of belonging and wellbeing are essential to learning. If you need accommodations, EFSC's SAIL Accessibility Services team can partner with you so you can engage fully in your courses and campus life, and our Titan Support Centers are here with in-person and virtual workshops to help you throughout the term.
College is also about connection and discovery. Join a student club, attend an event like Welcome Back, and cheer on your EFSC Titans sports teams for free at home games!
When you're ready to explore internships, part-time work, or next steps after graduation, Career Services can help you clarify your path and strengthen your resume.
As you settle in, keep the rhythm simple. Go to class, ask questions, use the resources here for you, and make time to rest, move, and connect with friends. Small, steady actions are the roadmap to success.
