July 24, 2025
The Eastern Florida State College Cyber Titans student club has earned an impressive 20th place ranking in the Spring 2025 National Cyber League (NCL) Competition's Cyber Power Rankings.
The competition featured more than 9,200 students from 510 colleges and universities across the country.
The Cyber Titans team included: Troy Bedworth, Stephen Brown, Jonathan Dea, Brandon DeWitt, Noel Furtado, Bonifer Gotas, Aaron Hobbs, Jon McGaha, and Dylan Sullivan — who competed in both individual and team-based events under the guidance of Cybersecurity Professor Nicole Dyess.
The NCL, powered by Cyber Skyline, is a premier cybersecurity skills competition that simulates real-world challenges faced by cybersecurity professionals.
Participants gain hands-on experience, reinforce classroom learning, and receive a personalized skills report that showcases their job readiness to potential employers — bridging the gap between education and career.
Club members take part in student outreach events related to Internet safety and privacy and participate in multiple capture the flag (CTF) events throughout the year. The club also holds study sessions for students who want to prepare for the Security+, CySA, CEH, and CHFI exams.
