How Employer Partnerships Work
  1. Establish the partnership. EFSC and the employer sign a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

  2. Define the position. The employer completes a job description using EFSC’s apprenticeship template.

  3. Recruit eligible students. EFSC advertises the opportunity during the application window. Employers may also offer virtual or in-person information sessions.

  4. Review candidates. EFSC provides a pool of eligible applicants for employer review.

  5. Interview and select. The employer interviews candidates and makes the hiring selection. Coordinated on-campus interviews may be available.

  6. Onboard the apprentice. EFSC coordinates apprenticeship-specific onboarding and support, while the employer completes its standard hiring and onboarding procedures.

  7. Provide the work experience. The employer provides paid employment for at least six months. Renewal may extend the placement for another six months, up to a one-year maximum.

  8. Stay connected. EFSC meets regularly with the employer to check in on the placement and support apprentice success.

  9. Submit for reimbursement. Eligible employers may submit an invoice at the end of each employment period in accordance with program reimbursement requirements.
