Network Security - Certificate Program

If you're fascinated by using technology to solve and prevent security problems, EFSC offers a Network Security Certificate that can kickstart your career in the in-demand field of cybersecurity.

This certificate program prepares you for entry-level roles as a network security technician. You'll learn about network design, securing infrastructure and data, ethical hacking, incident response, and forensic analysis.

After completing the program, you can start working or continue your education. You can apply the credits earned toward the related Network Systems Technology A.S. degree. One advantage of starting with the Network Security CCC is that it provides core training specific to the job, without the need for placement testing or the general education courses required for the A.S. degree.

Network Security Certificate - Course Curriculum

In this program, you'll be introduced to foundational network security techniques and skills. You'll build on your knowledge of computer networking, operating systems, security protection and testing methods, and elements of forensic analysis.

Why Study Network Security at Eastern Florida?

Enhanced Learning Opportunities

The department hosts a student club called Cyber Titans, which encourages students to participate in cyber defense competitions, capture the flag events, and attend cyber awareness presentations.

As a student in this program, you'll have the opportunity to participate in the National Cyber League twice a year — where in Spring of 2021, cybersecurity students from EFSC accomplished an impressive achievement by securing a spot in the top 50 rankings for the eastern region of the U.S.!

Hands-On Experience in Modern Facilities

EFSC has a cyber range offered by the EFSC Center for Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics (CCDF). This simulates real enterprise networks, giving you valuable hands-on experience. The student-driven labs operate on isolated networks, allowing you to test and enhance your cyber defense skills in realistic scenarios.

The CCFD also facilitates internships specifically designed for cybersecurity and computer science students, providing experience and networking that can lead to jobs.

Industry Certification Prep

Industry certifications have become crucial in today's digital workforce, allowing individuals to showcase their expertise in specific technical areas, making them highly desirable to employers. At EFSC, you'll have the opportunity to participate in various free CompTIA boot camps that are specifically designed to help you obtain industry certifications. Upon successful completion of the boot camps, you'll receive a complimentary voucher to take the certification exams.
