Grant Provides Boost to EFSC’s Veterinary Program

June 01, 2022

The Community Foundation for Brevard has awarded a $4,133 grant to help train students in Eastern Florida State College’s Veterinary program.

The money will be used for equipment for students studying to receive a College Certificate as Veterinary Assistants. The college also offers an Associate in Science Degree in Veterinary Nursing. Both programs are based on the Cocoa Campus.

Donna Sewell, Philanthropy Manager for the Community Foundation, said the grant will make a big difference for students in the animal care field.

“This will provide students with access to new equipment, tools and exposure to procedures needed for successful careers in a variety of environments. It has the potential to improve the quality of care for animals in our community and beyond,” she said.

College officials thanked the foundation for the donation, saying their generosity provides a valuable boost to the program.

“Organizations like the Community Foundation show the strong support the college has along the Space Coast, and we’re very grateful for their important help,” said Cindy Kane, Executive Director for Development and Strategic Engagement at the EFSC Foundation.
