Ten EFSC Students Make All-Florida Academic Team

A record number of 10 Eastern Florida State College students have been named to the 2018 All-Florida Academic Team for their outstanding scholarship and work in the community.

The All-Florida Academic Team consists of 132 students from the 28-member Florida College System that includes Eastern Florida.

The students were nominated by their colleges and selected based on high achievement in the classroom, leadership on campus and service to the community.

This year’s representatives from EFSC are the most the college has placed on the team, topping the 2017 record of eight students selected for the honor.

“The accomplishments of these students is extraordinary both inside and outside the classroom, and all of us at Eastern Florida are very proud of them,” said college President Dr. Jim Richey.

“They are among the best of the best, especially when you consider there are more than 800,000 students in the Florida College System.”

Students were selected from each of Eastern Florida’s four campuses. They are:

Titusville Campus
  • Ryan Bradley, who is pursuing an Associate in Science Degree in Chemical Technology
Cocoa Campus
  • Seth Woodhead, who is pursuing an Associate in Science Degree in Chemical Technology
  • Angela Michelle Monk, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree
Melbourne Campus
  • Michaylla Boring, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree
  • Kurt Grammig, who is pursuing an Associate in Science Degree in Chemical Technology
  • Stella Quintero, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree
  • Carina Rodriguez, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree
Palm Bay Campus
  • Jacob Adkins, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree
  • Jennifer Garcia, who is pursuing an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing
  • Matylda Zamudio, who is pursuing an Associate in Arts Degree

In making the team, the students have been nominated by Eastern Florida for selection to the All-USA Academic Team competition sponsored by USA Today and the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.

Members of the All-Florida Academic Team will be formally recognized during an April 6 awards ceremony in Tampa.
