Eastern Florida Site of High School Soccer Championships

February 2, 2015

Play begins this week in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) girls and boys state championship semifinals and finals, hosted at the Titans Soccer Complex on the Melbourne Campus.

The girls tournament will involve 20 teams from throughout the state in five classes – 5A through 1A – from Wednesday through Saturday.

The boys tournament also will involve 20 teams in the same five classes from Wednesday through Saturday Feb. 11-14.

“Hosting the FHSAA tournaments gives Eastern Florida the opportunity to showcase what the college is all about both academically and athletically,” said Eastern Florida Associate Vice President for Athletics and head women’s soccer coach Jeff Carr.

“Having the high school teams and their parents, friends and supporters on our growing Melbourne Campus benefits the college and the community at large. It would not be possible without the support of our President Dr. Jim Richey and the Board of Trustees.”

The Melbourne Campus facility also hosted the FHSAA tournaments in 2014 along with Space Coast Sports Promotions and will host the collegiate-level NJCAA Women’s Division I Soccer National Championship Tournament through 2016.

High school tournament admission is $9 per session. Parking is $5.

Bright House Sports Network will carry the state finals live on channel 47 and HD channel 1147. The semifinals and the finals also will be shown live via webcast at https://www.bhsnlive.com and www.nfhsnetwork.com/states/FL
