Eastern Florida State College recently honored 12 part-time faculty with the 2026 Outstanding Adjunct Award. The presentation took place at the recent Fall Adjunct Faculty Welcome Back Meeting

• Maria Capella-Miller, Spanish & Success Strategies for College & Life
• Marcella Cintra, Business
• Richard Cote, Mathematics
• Mark Lowe, Public Safety/Police Training (in-memoriam)
• Dr. Nigel Schultz, Dental Health Sciences
• Dr. Janet Sikora, Human Anatomy & Physiology
• Meara Trine, Education
• Dr. Scott Whitacre, Psychology
• Zechra Williams, Cosmetology

Annually, EFSC relies on more than 375 part-time faculty to teach classes on each of its four campuses. These part-time instructors come from many professional disciplines, sharing their knowledge and experience with students and ensuring quality curriculum that addresses emerging workforce trends.

Selected from a competitive pool of nominees, recipients of the Outstanding Adjunct Award are recognized for demonstrating excellence across key areas including student learning outcomes, instructional innovation, student engagement, accessibility and support, professionalism, and commitment to educational excellence.
