The Eastern Florida State College Cyber Titans student club has achieved national recognition in the Spring 2025 National Cyber League (NCL) Competition.

Under the guidance of Cybersecurity Professor Nicole Dyess, the Cyber Titans competed in both individual and team-based events, earning an impressive 20th place ranking in the Cyber Power Rankings. The competition featured over 9,200 students from 510 colleges and universities across the country.

The NCL, powered by Cyber Skyline, is a premier cybersecurity skills competition that simulates real-world challenges faced by cybersecurity professionals.

Participants gain hands-on experience, reinforce classroom learning, and receive a personalized skills report that showcases their job readiness to potential employers — bridging the gap between education and career.

“We are extremely proud of our Cyber Titans and this outstanding achievement,” said College President Dr. Jim Richey. “The competition highlighted their talent, dedication, and commitment to becoming cybersecurity professionals. Congratulations to the team and to Professor Nicole Dyess, whose leadership continues to set a national standard.”

The Cyber Titans team included: Troy Bedworth, Stephen Brown, Jonathan Dea, Brandon DeWitt, Noel Furtado, Bonifer Gotas, Aaron Hobbs, Jon McGaha, and Dylan Sullivan.

“We are honored to recognize the students and faculty of Eastern Florida State College for their exceptional performance in the NCL Spring Competition,” said NCL Commissioner Dr. David Zeichick.

“Their teamwork and dedication are truly commendable. We also applaud Professor Nicole Dyess for her unwavering support and mentorship, which has been instrumental in her students’ success.”
