
Non-Credit Welding Course

In this non-credit welding course at Eastern Florida State College, you'll have the flexibility to specialize in one of three popular welding methods:
- Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW),
- Gas Metal Arc (GMAW), or
- Gas Tungsten Arc (GTAW).
In this course, you'll learn about fundamental safety protocols, interpreting welding symbols, and blueprints. Instruction will also encompass selecting and setting up basic equipment, mastering arc manipulation, and understanding the characteristics of weld beads.

This practical, eight-week program takes place Monday through Thursday (except for holidays) from 5 PM to 9 PM on EFSC's Cocoa Campus.
Taught by our experienced welding instructor, the evening schedule is designed to accommodate both hobbyists and working adults looking to advance their careers. Whether you're passionate about car restoration, motorcycle repair, or metal sculpting as an artist, welding skills are highly valuable.
Additionally, completing this course could serve as a gateway to EFSC's year-long Welding Technology Certificate program.

If you live in Brevard County, you might be eligible for a scholarship that can help pay for the tuition and fees associated with this non-credit welding course. To see if you qualify, complete and submit our online scholarship form.

Tuition Info and Course Registration
The non-credit welding course at EFSC has a tuition fee of $1,075, which includes the required lab fee. To participate, you must purchase your own safety equipment including a welding helmet, jacket, gloves, and leather steel-toed boots, along with some basic tools. These items are estimated to cost around $435. We'll provide you with a comprehensive list of what's required.
