Local Automotive Group Makes Major Donation to EFSC Foundation

August 22, 2016 - The Eastern Florida State College Foundation has received a major gift from the Boniface Hiers Automotive Group. The $50,000 contribution was made to support the EFSC Foundation’s vision to build futures, transform lives and promote academic excellence.

The major gift will increase the Foundation’s ability to help EFSC students pay for their education, with more than 500 students receiving scholarships annually through its work.

“Many of us on the Boniface-Hiers team and our children have benefited from a great education at Eastern Florida,” said A.J. Hiers, the company’s President and CEO.

“The college’s impressive growth with new programs that include Bachelor Degrees and new state-of-the-art academic buildings is increasing its importance to our community even more.

“That’s why we’re proud to contribute to the Foundation and help ensure student success for many years to come.”

College President Dr. Jim Richey called the donation “extremely generous and something that will help change people’s lives in a significant way.”

“We’re very grateful to Boniface-Hiers Automotive Group for the strong support they have made to the college and our students,” said Richey. “They know an investment in a college education is an investment in the future.”

Boniface-Hiers Automotive Group owns and operates five dealerships throughout Brevard County, providing sales and service for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Trucks, Mazda, Kia and Infiniti automobiles as well as Honda motorcycles and ATV’s.

The EFSC Foundation was established in 1971. It has awarded more than $2.5 million in scholarships in recent years with every dollar helping the students it serves.
