April 26, 2018 - Eastern Florida State College honored 90 of its employees Thursday for their service in helping students attain their educational goals.
The annual Employee Service Awards celebration was held at the King Center for the Performing Arts on the Melbourne Campus, with employees receiving recognition for five to 40 years of service.
The two employees with the longest service were Jane Edgar, an Associate Professor of Math on the Cocoa Campus, with 40 years; and Connie Bobik, an Associate Professor of Nursing on the Melbourne Campus, with 35 years.

Another four employees were honored for 30 years of service: Economics, Government and Business Law Professor Julia Derrick, King Center Executive Director Steven Janicki, Director of Collegewide Printing and Graphic Services Jo Ann Noth and Biology Professor James Yount.
College President Dr. Jim Richey thanked all the recipients for their dedication, saying their efforts were central to the college receiving a prestigious Gold Rating from the Florida Board of Education last year for its performance in student success.
“I deeply appreciate your commitment to excellence and so does our Board of Trustees. Never forget that you are making a real and lasting difference in the lives of our students and our community,” said Richey.
