Online Courses & Virtual Services in Place to Support Students

April 14, 2020 - Eastern Florida State College students can study from the safety of their homes this summer with all-online classes and a wealth of Virtual Student Services to help them succeed.

Summer Term registration is now open for classes that begin May 18, June 15 and June 29.

The remote learning Summer format comes as the college conducts the rest of the Spring Term with all remote classes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and statewide stay-at-home order that has closed its four campuses.

“We don’t want the crisis to prevent students from continuing their education, and taking Summer courses online is a safe and easy way for them to continue their momentum,” said college President Dr. Jim Richey.

“They can expect help every step of the way from their instructors and staff in more than 20 student services areas who are committed to ensuring they meet their goals."

Besides online classes, a very limited number of in-person labs may be offered no earlier than July  1, but only if CDC guidance allows for their safe resumption under strict social distancing and sanitizing rules.

The EFSC admissions team also has worked with Brevard Public Schools on a virtual process that allows eligible graduating high school seniors to register for Summer term courses before the college receives their final transcript with graduation date. Students should reach out to their high school guidance counselor for assistance with the special "Pending Final Transcripts" form that facilitates this option.

Review the Summer Term Frequently Asked Questions page and find contact information and additional details in EFSC's Virtual Student Services Guide.
