EFSC Foundation Receives $50,000 Goldman Endowment

September 23, 2016 - A $50,000 endowment to honor the Judy and Mitchell Goldman Family has been received by the Eastern Florida State College Foundation for student scholarships.

The Goldman family created the endowment to support students who demonstrate a passion for volunteerism through community service in Brevard County.

The students must also be enrolled in the college’s Bachelor’s Degree program in Business.

“My late wife, a former teacher and social worker, and I have long believed that our community is enriched when all of us give something of ourselves to help others,” said Goldman.

EFSC Foundation Director Jennie Kriete called the Goldman’s gift deeply meaningful, saying it shows students the twin virtues of community service and academic achievement.

“We are thankful to our new donors and all who continue to support the Foundation and our goal to build futures and transform lives through education,” said Kriete.

“We have awarded $2.5 million in scholarships to over 2,500 students the past five years. But more scholarships are needed, so come grow with us. Your donations will promote academic excellence and success for Brevard County students to help them achieve their dreams.”

In this academic year, the EFSC Foundation has awarded 479 student scholarships from $20 million in funds that include more than 300 named scholarships.
