BCC to Host Fall Job Fair

October 11, 2012 - The Brevard Community College Career Planning and Development Center will host a Fall Job Fair on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the BCC Palm Bay Campus, located at 250 Community College Parkway, Palm Bay, 32909, at the South Patio.

BCC students and alumni are welcome and there is no charge to attend. Professional attire is suggested.

A number of local businesses and organizations will be on hand, taking resumes and providing interviews for potential jobs. Some of those organizations include Brevard Health Alliance, Net Boss Technologies, New Concept Teleservices, Cumulus Media, Revolution Technologies, Securitas, The Fountains, Devereux, Pet Supermarket, Space Coast Credit Union, Event Imaging Solutions, Blue Ware, Regions Bank and Primerica.

The Career Planning and Development Center opened earlier this year on the Cocoa Campus and has expanded to include sites at all the other BCC Campuses. Its goal is to prepare students for a tough job market where unemployment remains high, and to make the Center a place where Space Coast businesses come to hire new workers.

“The Career Planning and Development Center is here to help students develop their professional skills so they can stand out from the crowd in the job search, “said Gloria Meeks, College-wide Associate Director of Career Planning and Development. “Every day, more and more students are realizing the difference the Career Center can make for them.”

The Center’s staff works one-on-one with students from the moment they start at BCC.

“Our Career Planning and Development Center continues to exceed our expectations,” said BCC President, Dr. Jim Richey. “Since its inception, 82 students have gained jobs, helping them support their families and gain the higher education they need to be successful in life. It’s work that will continue to be a priority at the college.”
