MSSC/CPT Certification Course

The CPT Certification process at Eastern Florida State College focuses on the core technical competencies of the entry-level production worker and is applicable in all sectors of manufacturing. This course prepares the student to sit for the four Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) Production Technician certification assessments: Safety; Quality Practices & Measurement; Manufacturing Processes & Production; and Maintenance Awareness.

  • Online course delivery. Exams (4) proctored on the Cocoa campus and are scheduled on non-class evenings.

MSSC-CPT Testing

Eastern Florida State College is an approved testing site for EFSC students for the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council Certified Production Technician (MSSC-CPT). Assessments will be given after each unit in the certification course and coordinated through the testing lab. Participants who pass any of the four Production modules will be awarded certificates for each specific module. Those who pass all four core Production modules will be awarded a “Certified Production Technician (CPT)” credential.

Class Format

The course is a 10-week synchronous online course where you will view and participate in a lecture twice a week from your own computer. During the lecture you may ask questions and have immediate response from your instructor. If you are unable to participate in the live lecture, a link will be available for viewing afterwards. At that point you may email your questions. Practice quizzes and vocabulary sheets are used to further prepare the student for each exam. Study and Other labs may be scheduled as needed.

  • MSSC Registration
  • MSSC High Resolution Certificate for each successful exam
  • MSSC will send Full CPT recipients a printed certificate and CPT patch 2-3 weeks after final assessment. Contingent upon MSSC most current offer

Earn College Credits

MSSC CPT certification is worth up to 15 credits toward an Engineering Technology Associate’s Degree at EFSC.

How to Register


Course registration is an easy, two-step process

Step 1: Prospective participants in the MSSC-CPT course must complete the EDC Tuition Assistance Program form, which reduces the program cost and submit the completed forms via fax 321-684-7444 OR email to OR mail to:

Step 2: Complete EFSC Registration. Registration and payment can be done online by clicking Online Registration below or by calling Patty Boatman at 321-433-7514. If you are applying for a scholarship, see below and follow the Steps.

Step 2: Complete Scholarship application. See available Scholarships below.
Step 3: Complete the EFSC online registration below and indicate VOUCHER for payment.
