Eastern Florida State College has partnered with OnLine Training to provide these State-approved quality online courses.

40-hour State Approved Insurance Course: Online

Interested in specializing in Life Insurance?  This course focuses on the role of the prospective producer, representing an insurer as to life insurance and annuity contracts.  The course covers general concepts including underwriting, types of policies, provision, rider, options, and exclusions. It explores personal, family and business use of life insurance products, as well as major tax considerations.  The  course concludes with an overview of state and federal laws and regulations governing insurance transactions and dealings with the public.

This 40-hour course meets the state of Florida educational requirements to qualify for the state exam. After successful completion, the student is eligible to sit for the Florida state exam and obtain your 2-14 Florida Agents Life (including Annuities and Variable Contacts).

200-Hour State Approved Insurance Course

Interested in a wide-ranging career in the insurance industry? A General Lines Agent is the most comprehensive insurance license in the industry, giving you the ability to transact all aspects of property and casualty insurance. Transact any of the following kinds of insurance: property, casualty, surety, health and marine and miscellaneous lines. This license is used to insure automobiles, watercraft, homes, commerical buildings, motorcycles, pets, and much more. It is also used to write errors and omissions, worker's compensation, and write bonds.

This new updated comprehensive 200-hour state-approved online insurance course follow the latest state manual. This course is in compliance with Florida educational requirements for the state exam. After successful completion, the student is eligible to sit for the General Lines Agents state examination. Textbook required: The Florida General Lines Agent and Customer Representative Study Manual, current edition.

Alternate pathways to licensure as a 2-20 agent: Students may  take the 4-40 Registered Customer Service Representative course or the 20-44 Personal Lines course, work for a year in that position, and then take the 40 hour 2-20 conversion course.  Students may also serve as a 1-20 Surplus Lines agent for a year and then take the 2-20 conversion 40 hour course to be eligible to sit for the General Lines Agents state examination.

40-hour State Designation Insurance Course

Do you have great people skills? Then you might be a perfect fit for the Customer Representative (4-40) license. As a 4-40, you will be licensed to transact insurance under the supervision of a licensed General Lines Agent or agency.

This state approved course is known as the "Get Your Feet Wet" course of insurance where you can begin working in the field quickly and add additional licenses and responsibilities later.
