Build a career where you're able to create inspiring, safe and energy-efficient environments.
Knowledge of Drafting is valued in a variety of fields, including by manufacturing and engineering firms and in the architectural design, residential and commercial construction fields. EFSC’s Drafting & Design program targets skills needed for a rewarding career.
Meet Deborah Lister
EFSC's Drafting & Design program offers students an opportunity to complete an Associate's Degree or focus on a College Credit Certificate. The Drafting program prepares students to understand technical drawings and plans that are used by production and construction workers to build everything from manufactured products such as toys, industrial machinery and spacecraft to structures such as houses, office buildings and gas pipelines.
Drafting & Design students gain knowledge of visual guidelines, show the technical details of products and structures, and specify dimensions and materials. The program's recent addition of a state-of-the art 3D printer is an important tool now available to students. Three dimensional printing has moved Drafting & Design into the field of "Rapid Prototyping," utilizing advanced 3D modeling CAD programs which include AutoCAD 3D solids modeling, Autodesk Inventor, and Pro-Engineer. The program is located primarily at the Melbourne Campus with several courses offered at the Cocoa Campus.
