Prepare for a future in the arts

The primary mission of the Performing and Visual Arts programs at Eastern Florida State College is to educate and train future majors in the disciplines of music, theatre, and studio art.

Students Playing the Flute

Our secondary mission is to enrich the lives of the local community — including students who take our classes as non-majors and community members who attend our concerts, recitals, art shows and theatrical presentations.

The Eastern Florida State College Performing and Visual Arts prorgams offer courses on the Cocoa Campus.

We encompass the following disciplines.

Be sure to explore each concentration's web pages and also check out the information on department scholarships on this page. Your interest in the arts could help fund your education. Please note that dance classes are currently not available at Eastern Florida.

Our home performance venue is the beautiful Bernard Simpkins Fine Arts Center on the Cocoa Campus, which features two theaters, numerous large and small practice rooms and a state-of-the-art electronic keyboard lab.

Performing arts students also have numerous opportunities to perform or display their creative pursuits throughout the community.
