Study Abroad in Zambia

This special program allows Eastern Florida State College education students to earn 3 credits while studying in Zambia,  Africa during Summer Term 2019. Course highlights include:

  • The opportunity to teach Zambian children in grades K-3
  • Field experience at the Kafakumba Training Center
  • Excursions to Victoria Falls and Chobe Game Park

In addition to applying for the trip, students must meet EFSC's general study abroad requirements and register for the required course when the course registration system opens:

Course Title: EDG 2771 Global Practicum Through Study Abroad
Credit: 3 credits
Prerequisite: Completion of EDF 1005 Introduction to the Teaching Profession with a grade of "C" or better

Health insurance is required to participate in this study abroad experience. A physical exam and immunizations are recommended.

Pricing and Accommodations

Space is limited. A $550 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your spot. Payment plans are available. Explore the State Department's Gilman International Scholarship opportunity.

$4,650 Program Fee includes:
  • Roundtrip flights from Orlando to Zambia
  • All accomodations while in Zambia (double occupancy)
  • All meals while in Zambia
  • All required transportation while in Zambia
  • Transportation and admission to Victoria Falls and Chobe Game Park
  • Travel insurance
Not included:
  • Eastern Florida State College tuition
  • Passport fees (a valid U.S. passport is required)
  • Immunization and physical exam fees
  • Spending money
