Southern Africa Nursing Program
The Transcultural Healthcare program allows EFSC Nursing students to earn credits while studying in Zambia.
It's been said that arguing against globalization is like arguing against the laws of gravity. Anyone who’s tried rollerblading knows that you can’t argue with gravity! So why argue with globalization? Embrace it – not just mentally, but wholeheartedly through EFSC's Transcultural Health - Study Abroad program in Zambia, Africa (NUR 2560).
Dr. Elinda Steury will be leading this six-week adventure in learning during the Summer D 2018 class session. The Eastern Florida State College NUR 2560 course includes a three-week session in the U.S. where students will focus on building community and learning the foundational principles of cross-cultural education and country specific information. Then, prepare to be changed by a three-week session in Zambia where students will be introduced to the challenges and joys of global healthcare, including some of the natural beauty of Zambia such as Victoria Falls and the wild animals.
The current travel dates are June 25 - July 15, 2018, with exact dates to be finalized. The projected cost is $4,000, all-inclusive
This is a limited access program with only seven openings! Current and prior nursing students at EFSC will be given priority for admission to this course. For more information contact SteuryE@Easternflorida.edu and embrace globalization. Read more about the 2016 study aboard trip to Africa.
