Service Learning Scholarships

The scholarships explained below require a service component that may be filled through the Service-Learning program. If you have documented at least 75 hours of service and have at least a 2.5 GPA, you can apply. Scholarships for the 2016-17 Academic Year have been awarded. Information about future scholarships will be available at a later date.

Outstanding Student Humanitarian Scholarship Criteria

Eligibility

Must be a high school graduate or have obtained GED certification

Must be a full or part-time EFSC student

Must have a minimum 2.50 overall grade point average

Must have submitted current year FAFSA (Applicant does not have to qualify for Financial Aid, just have applied)

Must attend EFSC for the next academic year (two semesters)

Terms

The tuition scholarship of $1,000 is to be utilized in one academic year ($500 Fall Semester and $500 Spring Semester) at EFSC

The candidate must complete an application, which includes an essay (500 words) entitled “My Humanitarian Service” describing a significant humanitarian service, total hours of service, and how the service benefitted the applicant, community, and college.

The recipient must maintain a 2.50 GPA at EFSC to be eligible for the second semester’s scholarship.

If the recipient fails to complete the semester, the student must repay the full amount of the scholarship award.

On-Campus / Community Service Scholarship

Eligibility

Must be a full or part-time EFSC Student

Must have a minimum 2.50 overall GPA

The candidate must complete an application, which includes an essay (500 words) entitled “On-Campus/Community Service” describing a significant On-Campus service, total hours of service and how the service benefitted the applicant, community, and college.

If the recipient fails to complete the semester, the student must repay the full amount of the scholarship award.
