April 29, 2013 - Landus Anderson of Florida High in Tallahassee is the second signee for Brevard Community College's men's basketball for the 2013-2014 season.
Anderson, a 6-foot, 6-inch, 180-pound wing averaged more than 18.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.5 blocked shots per game as a senior despite lacking use of his right arm or hand due to nerve damage at birth.
Anderson attracted interest from a number of colleges but said he felt at home at BCC, which finished 26-7 last season, losing in the Florida College System Activities Association state championship game.
"It feels great because this is what I worked for after all this time, so this is what it comes down to," Anderson said at his signing. "I am one step closer of accomplishing my dream of playing Division I basketball."
BCC head coach Jeremy Shulman had high praise for Anderson.
"I cannot be more excited about the signing of Landus Anderson," Shulman said. "Landus is an outstanding player, and an even better person. He will make us better immediately, both on the court, as well as off it. Landus is a skilled, tough guard that can do so many things on the court. We are excited to welcome him to the family."
