EFSC Melbourne Campus Hosting Constitution Day Observance

September 8, 2016 - The Melbourne Campus of Eastern Florida State College will hold a special Constitution Day event on Monday, Sept. 12 at 12:30 p.m. in the Building 4 Auditorium.

The keynote speaker will be State Representative Debbie Mayfield who will address the principle of constitutionalism and the lawmaking process. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session following her remarks.

The observance will also include presentations from adjunct political science faculty members Steve Edmonds and Ilana Grimes and a patriotic musical performance by Assistant Professor Connie Dearmin.

The celebration of the 229th birthday of the U.S. Constitution, the founding document of American democracy signed on Sept. 17, 1787, is an annual observance required of all educational institutions that receive federal funds.

The event is free and open to the public.
