Mt. Moriah Reception Honors BCC President

Mt Moriah

May 1, 2012, Palm Bay, FL - Members of the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church honored BCC’s new President, Dr. Jim Richey, during a recent reception that focused on helping local students attain their goals.

About 75 members of the Palm Bay congregation attended the event including Moses Harvin, who serves on BCC’s Board of Trustees.

Richey discussed his vision for the College and new initiatives underway, such as BCC’s plan to start offering select four-year degrees in August 2013 and placing a stronger emphasis on helping students plan their careers.

He also said the College is “firmly committed to Brevard’s diverse minority communities, and listening carefully to what members of those communities have to say. To that end, I invite you to share with me your best ideas on how we can continue to improve our college.”

Dr. John Dietrich, BCC’s Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success, also outlined the financial aid programs available to students.

The reception was part of Dr. Richey’s ongoing community outreach effort to get input from Brevard residents about the College’s future.
