April 5, 2012, Brevard County, FL - Students from the BCC Theatre Department and Cocoa Drama Club presented a singing telegram to BCC administrators April 4 to express their thanks for funding that allows students to participate in productions such as “A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM” and “A WOMAN CALLED TRUTH.”
The funds also provide for hiring guest artists to conduct workshops and allow students in theater classes to travel to Orlando to see professional plays. Several students recently attended the Florida Theatre Conference in Gainesville and the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Chattanooga, Tenn., where they participated in auditions and workshops.
The administrators who welcomed the students were (left to right) BCC President, Dr. Jim Richey; Dr. Joe Lee Smith, Executive Advisor to the President and College Ambassador; Rich Laird, Vice President for Finance and Technical Services; and Dr. John Dietrich, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success.
