Parking Update: To ease parking congestion on EFSC's Melbourne Campus, students, faculty and staff may park in the large King Center lot. Additional parking is also available at the Tennis Complex accessed from Post Road near Sherwood Elementary. Please be sure your parking permit is on your vehicle and remember that parking is only allowed in marked spaces, and is not allowed on the grass. Fundraiser for Firefighting Equipment This Saturday

September 2, 2014 - The Eastern Florida State College Collegiate Veterans Society is hosting the Feasting for Firefighters fundraiser on Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at East Coast Christian Center, 680 N. Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island.

Meal tickets are $8 per person.

All funds raised will benefit the Merritt Island Volunteer Fire Department that needs five new self-contained breathing apparatus machines costing nearly $30,000.

The event features a meal consisting of BBQ chicken with two side dishes, a roll and a drink, and fun family activities.They include:

•    Carnival and midway games
•    50/50 raffle with gift baskets and other prizes
•    A live band and a DJ
•    A huge slide
•    Brevard Zoo Animal Encounter
•    Fire trucks and a Coast Guard vessel
•    A Brevard County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit
•    Smokey Bear
•    Free snow-cones for anyone making a donation

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey and U.S. Coast Guard Commander Bee Perry and Chief Aaron Morgan have volunteered to take turns in a dunking booth to help increase funds raised.
