Unique Banquet to Highlight Hunger Problem

November 7, 2012 - BCC's Rotaract Club and Center for Service-Learning are partnering with Cocoa Rotary to host a unique event to increase awareness about the hunger issue, both here in Brevard and around the world.

The “Oxfam America Hunger Banquet” is an interactive dinner program that allows participants a first-hand glimpse into the personal situations experienced by those who go hungry.

The event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Dining Room on the BCC Cocoa Campus.

Tickets can be purchased for $10 each through the Center for Service-Learning. All proceeds will go to the Central Brevard Sharing Center.

The program's goal is to provide participants with a greater understanding of the issues of hunger and poverty, and to motivate them to get involved and make a difference.

Oxfam America is an international relief and development organization that creates lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and injustice. Together with individuals and local groups in more than 90 countries, Oxfam saves lives, helps people overcome poverty and fights for social justice.
