BCC Interior Design Program Hosts Business Event

October 15, 2012 - The Brevard Community College Interior Design Program along with local businesses will hold a "Design to Define Brevard's Space Coast" meeting Oct. 18 to discuss economic growth along the Space Coast.

The guest speaker will be Stan Payne, CEO of Port Canaveral and Space Coast Business Magazine's 2011 Business Leader of the Year.

The magazine described Payne as the driving force behind what has become a major economic engine for Brevard County and Central Florida.

The impressive growth in the cruise ship and cargo industries has caught international attention with Payne named Maritime Person of the Year by the International Propeller Club, which represents the Maritime industry around the world.

Payne will discuss development plans for Port Canaveral and potential economic growth in Brevard.

Lesa N. Lorusso, program coordinator of the Interior Design program at BCC, will discuss how the college’s Associate of Science in Interior Design Technology program is preparing students to support local design businesses.

The event, which will provide excellent networking opportunities, will be held from 6-9 p.m. at the Pelican Beach Clubhouse, 1495 State Road A1A, Satellite Beach. Hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served.

For more information and to RSVP, contact Lesa Lorusso at or 321-298-1905.
