Gov. Rick Scott meets with defense industry leaders on Cocoa Campus

Aug. 1, 2012 - Gov. Rick Scott will meet with leaders of the Space Coast's defense industry for an Aug. 2 discussion on the Brevard Community College Cocoa Campus.

The Defense Contractor Roundtable will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Simpkins Fine Arts Center. Scott and defense officials will talk about the industry's importance in Florida and the issues it is facing.

The event is not open to the public, college employees or students.

The visit will bring additional security and some Cocoa Campus areas will be closed. That includes the Simpkins Center, which will be closed throughout the day to faculty, staff and students.

College employees and students should carefully follow directions provided by BCC campus security and local police agencies.
