Academic Databases & eResources
Eastern Florida State College libraries offer a large print collection as well as
digital resources including databases, electronic books, e-audio books, and streaming
videos and music.
Our print and digital collections are carefully selected to support academic classes. You may read, listen, watch and enjoy hundreds of books on your phone, eReader or tablet. Online resources are easy to access when logged into the myEFSC Portal or from the library website.
Requests for research help may be made in person at any campus reference desk or by phone. The online Ask-A-Librarian service provides Florida residents with virtual reference service via live chat and text messaging from 10 AM to midnight Sunday through Thursday (ET), and from 10 AM to 5 PM Friday and Saturday (ET). The Ask-a-Librarian Email form is available to patrons 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
A Copyright LibGuide is available through the library website and provides a basic understanding of copyright and the principles of fair use as they apply to the appropriate use of the Libraries’ services and materials.
Equipment (eReaders & Laptops)
The EFSC Libraries have a variety of equipment available for student use, including computers, black/white and color printers, scanners, photocopiers, eReaders, laptops, calculators, etc. Check availability with your campus librarian.
EFSC students, faculty and staff may borrow a Kindle eReader for a period of three weeks. If there is no hold, the loan may be renewed. All eReaders have WiFi access and come pre-loaded with popular best sellers and titles from faculty reading lists.
For complete details on the eReader checkout process, including information and links to reserve one, visit the online eReader LibGuide.
Laptops may be borrowed for a three-hour loan period, for in-library use only. All laptops are loaded with MS Office applications and have WiFi access. If there is no hold, laptop loans may be renewed one time.
All borrowers of any EFSC Library equipment must sign an Equipment Loan Agreement, valid for one calendar year.
