Get involved at Eastern Florida

Various faculty-led councils and committees at Eastern Florida State College help shape the direction of the academic mission. Those groups rely on the involvement of faculty members. Check this page for updates on opportunities to get involved.

Table Talks: A chance to give input

For the past couple of years, faculty, staff and students have had the opportunity to informally meet with Dr. Linda Miedema, Vice President, Academic Affairs and Chief Learning Officer to ask questions, clarify answers and seek other input. Dr. Miedema visits each campus at least five times/year for these discussions. You can review a summary of recent questions/concerns that have been raised and the follow up to each. If you have additional comments about these or other concerns, please contact Dr. Linda Miedema via email at Your input is important. Thank you.

Current Volunteer Needs

The Academic Affairs Council's Assessment Committee is looking for new members. If you are interested in participating in the furthering of the assessment program and in creating a viable, sustainable environment of assessment, we welcome you. Positions on the committee run two years, beginning Fall 2016 through Spring 2018, and we are especially interested in having a diverse membership with representation from numerous programs and all campuses.

The committee is responsible for making recommendations regarding A.A. Program Assessment to the AAC, but we will soon be including A.S. program initiatives as well. Meetings will be held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 4 to 5 PM via web/phone conference. If face-to-face meetings are required, they will last no longer than 1.5 hours.

Please contact chairs Dan Wagner (-7392) or Carrie Wells (-5236) for consideration or more information.
