EFSC Volleyball Faces Tough Road Matches Beginning Tuesday

Aug. 25, 2014 - With two season-opening victories to their credit Eastern Florida's volleyball players get a further opportunity for self-assessment this week as they face five matches on the road.

The Titans (2-0) travel to face always-tough Daytona State College at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Daytona Beach. Tuesday's match is Daytona State's season opener.

The Titans then travel to Florida State College Jacksonville for four weekend matches, meeting Santa Fe State College at noon on Friday and Lake-Sumter State at 4 p.m. They then play Pensacola State at noon on Saturday and FSCJ at 4 p.m.

The Titans swept host Lake-Sumter in three sets on Saturday for their second victory.

Sophomore Mariah Davis paced the Titans with 14 kills in the first match against Gulf Coast State, a five-set victory, and freshman Treasure Ingram contributed 10 kills against Lake-Sumter.

The Titans first home match in the Melbourne campus gymnasium is 6 p.m. Sept. 2 against Polk State College. It will be webcast live online at
