BCC Drops Two Five-Set Volleyball Matches

September 29, 2012 - Fighting to the last points the Brevard Community College volleyball team lost two five-set matches on Saturday's final day of the South Florida Community College tournament in Highlands.

BCC fell 25-21, 18-25, 23-25, 25-18, 10-15 to Lake Sumter Community College and 26-28, 28-26, 11-25, 25-15 and 12-15 to Gulf Coast Community College.

Freshman Sam Spring had 32 kills for BCC on Saturday. Fellow freshman Ashley Gonzalez had 30 while freshman Micaela Vowinkel and sophomore Alicia Vaccarelli of Melbourne High both had 22.

Freshman Sara Watkins had 19 digs and freshman Lorelle Proferes nine digs.

The defeats dropped BCC's record to 3-18. Next up is a tri-match with South Florida State Colllege and State College of Florida at SFSC in Avon Park at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday.
