BCC Falls in Straight Sets to Polk State

August 28, 2012 - The Brevard Community College Titans volleyball team fell in three sets to Polk State College on Tuesday night in Winter Haven.

Coming off a weekend which saw it lose its first two matches but then rebound to win its next two at the season-opening Florida State College at Jacksonville season-opening tournament, BCC fell 23-25, 19-25 and 11-25 to Polk.

BCC is now 2-3. The match was Polk's season opener.

BCC head coach Herb Tokumoto is looking for better results.

"We as a team have to have the desire to overcome," he said. "We just struggled at the wrong times. The team is learning. We just need to learn quicker."

Next up for the Titans is the two-day Hillsborough Community College tournament on Friday and Saturday. Also competing are Palm Beach State College, College of Central Florida and State College of Florida.

BCC then opens its Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference schedule at 7 PM Tuesday at Palm Beach State. Also competing in the conference are Miami Dade College, Indian River State College and Broward College.
